Arise and Mourn

Arise, Oh Nation, and mourn for your torn
Don’t you for one moment dry your eyes,
As long as your children are dying in some godforsaken war
Why should you, for a moment, have any peace or joy in your lives?
Every passing moment is carrying yet more souls out of the land of the living,
And somewhere those that love them pray that the God of eternity is forgiving, and welcomes Those departed sons and daughters into the Celestial Home . . .
And not one of their deaths will make the warlords stop and reflect
Thousands and thousands of lives lost will not make them change their minds
So, Pitiful Nation, fall to your knees and cry
And for just a moment realize the lies
Why bring about a decade or more of fanatical wars
When the citizens and country you destroy is yours?
